Job Offering: Director of The Alliance [filled]

June 4, 2009

The Alliance is something that has been frequently mentioned in newspaper articles and in passing conversation. This year we hope to make it a reality. To that end, we will be appointing one student who will be responsible for setting the vision, gathering interest from other schools, delegating tasks to other students, and shaping The Alliance into a real organization.

The Director will likely spend 5-10 hours/wk working on this project. He or she would start immediately and work throughout the summer to get interest from other student government organizations in New York City. We aim to have 5 schools committed to The Alliance, and at least one Alliance-sponsored event before the end of the Fall 2009 semester. In sum, the Director will be responsible for starting the organization from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity to further the mission of King’s by building relationships with other schools.

Duties will include*:

  • Setting the Vision of The Alliance
  • Setting and meeting goals of The Alliance for 2009-2010 academic year, and create a 5-year plan
  • Marketing The Alliance to other New York City college and university student governments through various means
  • Recruiting and supervising King’s students who desire to participate
  • Planning event(s) for interested/committed schools

Applicants should be outgoing, detail-oriented, and well organized. If you are interested in the role or want more information, please contact Chris Ross (cross@tkc.edu) or Andrew Schatz (aschatz@tkc.edu).

*(Tasks can be done in conjunction with The King’s Council Cabinet members)
